Duplicate users in cohort

In cohort, if a user performs returning event multiple time, will he/she will be counted twice or for only first time?
for eg. I am looking into a daily level cohort, if user “A” performs returning event twice on day 0 and then again twice on day 1. “A” will appear once(correct me of I am wrong) on day 0 cohort, but what about day 1? Will “A” be there in day 1 cohort or not ?

Hey @Sandesh,

Cohorts are based on users and not based on events. So the count is independent of the number of times a particular user performs an event.

Yeah I got that, what I want to ask is : for eg. I am looking into a daily level cohort, if user “A” performs returning event twice on day 0 and then again twice on day 1. “A” will appear once(correct me of I am wrong) on day 0 cohort, but what about day 1? Will “A” be there in day 1 cohort or not ?

Hi Sandesh,

A user will be counted multiple times in a row if they haven’t performed the second action again.

For example, if user “A” did Added-Cart and Charged yesterday. Lets say he also did Added-Cart and Charged today too.

If I plot a daily cohort (AppLaunched -> Charged) for that user, it will look something like this :

                    Day-0 Day-1

Yesterday 1 1
Today 0

User “A” will occur multiple times in the same row( in this case, the first row )
User “A” can’t come in the 2nd row ( because a user is always counted in a single row… )
